Congratulations Blakey
As some you may have already seen former Beckenham CC 1st XI player Alex Blake scored his maiden first-class hundred for Kent yesterday in the final LV country championship game against Yorkshire at Headingley.
Joining Martin Van Jaarsveld at 5-142 on the second day the pair took Kent past 200 before the South African edged behind shortly before stumps. Resuming the third day on 40 not out partners came and went until at 261 for 9 he was joined by Dewald Nel who held firm to help Kent to a slim first innings lead and see Blakey to his hundred – which he brought up with three consecutive boundaries off Adil Rashid.
